NHDP Team's Meeting with the German Ambassador to Nepal
On March 10, 2022, the directorate of NHDP was honoured to meet the newly appointed German Ambassador to Nepal, Dr. Thomas Prinz and Cultural Attaché Gregor Czaja at the South Asia Institute (SAI) Kathmandu office. The meeting began with an introduction to the premises, infrastructure, activities and history of the SAI Kathmandu branch by Frederic Maria Link, the Resident Representative of SAI Kathmandu. The meeting included presentations by Prof. Dr. Christiane Brosius on NHDP and by Prof Dr. Axel Michaels on the associated project ‘Documents on the History of Religion and Law of Pre-modern Nepal’ hosted by Heidelberg Academy of Sciences. Dr. Bidur Bhattarai also participated in the meeting by presenting the work of the Centre for Study of Manuscript Cultures at University of Hamburg.
The meeting led to a fruitful discussion on collaboration with the German Embassy regarding SAI Kathmandu’s 35th Anniversary in September 2022 and general possibility of a close cooperation and mutual support.
